Woo hoo! New blogger look, and I got the comments to work! ::dances::
Mom and I are going to get my books for college today, but she's on the phone right now. We have to go to both campuses for the college to get them, and one campus in 45 minutes away, so it takes a chunk of time.
We might go to the beach tomorrow. I really hope we do.
--------------------------
What good is the emotion of rage? I know that people say that it's good to feel angry and let it out, but how can you let out the anger you feel when you don't actually confront the one you're angry at? Personally, I have this problem a lot. I can't tell anyone in my family that I'm angry at them, when it happens.
I can't tell my mother because I just don't do that. She'll get offended if I do, and I know that I must respect my elders. I tell Liz sometimes, but it's quite hard dealing with disagreements that the two of us have, lately. We just go in circles. She says the same five things when we argue. She says she doesn't understand what I'm saying (which I don't think is really true, because I've taken to telling her pointe blanke what upset me), and she says that I'm overreacting, and I need to chill out and I'm too sensitive and I don't let things go. It's hard to let things go sometimes, especially if you don't deal with them to begin with.
The closest I come is when I tell my mother or sister if I'm angry with my father. I can't exactly tell him because he'd probably react much like my mother would. But then, what good does that do? We commiserate, but I don't think it's fair to Dad, because we don't always give him the chance to fix what's wrong. Often, I don't think he'd have the best reaction, but at least he would know how we feel. He knows better how my mother feels now, and he's trying to change.

You are Legolas fleeing MiddeEarth with a pirate!
I'm not quite sure how this happened, [the
pirate having such unkempt hair, and all], but
I am very happy for you. Perhaps Legolas
always wanted to be a pirate when he was
little. All elves love the sea anyways.
Perhaps Jack gave him a bit too much rum. The
one thing that is certain is: this is unheard
of.

As promised:
It was a little eerie going to sleep the first night after I got him. I had him standing at the foot of my bed, watching me. The moonlight shined on him and was slightly creepy though, so I moved him in front of the television, but I could still see his silhuoette.

Just an average week...uhm, yeah actually.
It's been a busy week. On Monday, I stayed out until after midnight and came home with a tattoo on the back of my right hand, Tuesday I helped decorate for a prom, today I watched close to three straight hours of Sex and the City, and tomorrow I'm going to pick up a six-foot Elf.
Let me explain.
I babysat on Monday and Tuesday night. The child's mom went to an entertainment event that lasted a very long time and she lives a long way from where it's held, so it was pretty late by the time she got back. I don't mind though. The kid is really sweet, and the mother pays *extremely* well. The little girl had a magazine that came with sparkly temporary tattoos, and we both put one on. I chose a ladybug, which as I said, is on the back of my hand. It's majorly coming off, though. I'm going to get rid of it completely tonight. I have to work tomorrow. Volunteer position.
On Tuesday, while babysitting again, the girl and I played with her Barbie dolls and they had two proms in a row. Probably would have had more, except she had to go to bed. The first was 80's themed, the second 50's themed. She thought the themes up. Astounding, no?
The SATC marathon probably doesn't sound that strenuous. It wasn't, but it was the only semi-remarkable thing I did today. As my sister pointed out, we watched almost the entire contents of a DVD in one sitting. We took a break at one point when I had to get something for my headache.
Possibly the most obvious-to-suss semi-fib from the opening paragraph is the Elf. A few days ago, I put one on hold at a local store, and my Legolas stand-up is coming in tomorrow. I'll be sure to post pictures. :o)
I'm going to try to finish Roverandom though, because I took Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman out of the library yesterday and I'm bound and determined to read it fully before I'm forced to return it. Of course, a renewal isn't out of the
question.
I did a drawing of Elijah Wood today. I can't decide how I feel about it. It's cute I guess, but I don't know that it looks like him. It's wierd, because a little over a year ago, if I'd seen a drawing like the one I did today, I'd have been blown away, and certainly never would have thought I could do anything like it. Now, I'm wondering if I could do better.

It's wet
Well, parents had planned on watching a family movie last night, so I only got to go for a walk, which was fine actually, because for a second I thought I wouldn't even be able to do that. Sister went with me, complained a bit, but mostly it was fine. It was really hot last night. And humid. Right when we set out for a walk it started raining, so we each took an umbrella. It never really settled into actual rain, just that light mist with an occasional earnest drop. We kept closing the umbrellas.
Then, on the way home, my sister pointed out a rainbow in the sky! I looked up, and there it was. It was actually crescent shaped, and looked like it ended just behind a building on the other side of the street. For a few minutes, it was really rather bright. It stayed visible all the way home, then my sister and I brought our parents outside to have a look at it. It was almost gone by the time we got home, but they saw it before it left.
Afterwards, I went inside and took a quick shower (because I was so sweaty), then we watched "When Harry Met Sally". It was the first time I saw it, and I really liked it. It was especially welcome because my father had settled on us watching the movie "Giant", which is really long, and I've seen parts of it and wanted to strangle Elizabeth Taylor's and Rock Hudson's characters. As my sister said after the movie, it "didn't turn out so bad." Next, I want to watch Spinal Tap. I've never seen that either.

Hi,
Going to eat soon, then going for a walk after dinner. It's humid enough to swim outside, so I'll see whether my sister wants to go with me. And when I come home, I'm going to do my twenty-five minute strength yoga workout, then take a really long shower.
Scintillating, no? Well, maybe I'll do some Chinese too, and I'm probably going to at least try to finish the next part of my fanfic!
Tin Star - Head
Sometimes I wake up in the morning
My feet my soul my arms my legs
my self my eggs are all fried
I've got to do my exams today
I've read my books turned up on time
but I haven't revised
I'm not getting along
I'm not getting the answers
'Cause I can't get out of my head
In the night sometimes
I wake up uncool uptight
I'm tired of being tired
But in my dreams my arms are open wide
I open up my eyes open up my eyes
but everything is dark
I think I'm blind
I'm not getting along
I'm not getting the answers
'Cause I can't get out of my head
This profession is my obsession
And this obsession is my depression
And this depression is my release
And this release will never cease
I'm not dumb use the phone

3. Would it be a live-action film or animated? Why?
It would be live action, because people would find it easier to believe that way.
4. Casting: who would play you, members of your family, friends, etc?
Me Melanie Lynskey, my sister Kate Winslet, my mother Cate Blanchett or Fionnula Flanagan, my father William Hurt.
5. Describe the movie preview/trailer.
Opens with a shot of a little girl writing backwards on a piece of paper. The mother comes in the room and hands her a small stack of papers with a little star in the upper left corner. The little girl takes them and starts writing on the paper in the correct fashion.
CU: The paper. It reads "Once upon a time"
Flashes of the little girl, her sister, and her parents during birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, school, home, homeschool, the children doing schoolwork, playing in the yard, building birdfeeders, reading, drawing, writing, growing up into young adults. Going to college, talking to people, doing college homework, going online, talking to friends.
The girl from the beginning sits down on her bed, a little laptop in front of her. She begins to type, a voiceover of her reading aloud what she types.
CU: The laptop screen.
The girl (vo): Once upon a time...
Flashes now of all her story ideas; aliens, monsters, a boy shouting at his father, a man jumping out a window, running down the street from a van, a woman entering a vandalized apartment, a girl falling down a deep hole, two men surrounded by lava, a girl looking at two young mutants, a woman typing at a computer screen, a monster trying to punch a man, a young man standing on a plateau with a regal cloak on looking down fuzzily on his subjects.
Cut back to the girl sitting on a couch next to her mother, the laptop between them.
Mother: You, Miss Kate, have a very vivid imagination.
I Really Should Be Working...
Now listening to Cake - Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps

Red/Green/Blue:
To you, the world is logical. Everything happens
for a reason, life is scientific. You like to
find solutions. I doubt you needed to take this
quiz in order to realize this.

What color do you see the world in?
brought to you by Quizilla
Some people seem to think they always know what's best for you
Their little minds try to create a world to keep you still
The bolt is thrown, the cage is locked
You saw this, don't you lie
At first you cry and then you hate those people stole your will...
Do as you are told and maybe then we'll let you out
You might be dead and cold, you might be full of doubt
Don't try to escape cuz you don't have nowhere to go
If nothing is your fate... there's no scenario
No nothing
Do you call my name
Do you stain my brain
My eyes are blurry and I can't see you anymore
Do you call my name
Do you breed my pain
My heart is bloody and I can't take it anymore
So you just sit there, stuck, afraid to risk reality
Afraid to cause yourself more pain, to face insanity
But nothing ventured, nothing gained
You see... your fear's your cage
You beg for help but you're alone, stuck in a helpless rage
Do as you are told and maybe then we'll let you out
You might be dead and cold, you might be full of doubt
Don't try to escape cuz you don't have nowhere to go
If nothing is your fate... there's no scenario
(it's me.... I see, please... let me out I'm petrified)
Do as you are told and maybe then we'll let you out
You might be dead and cold, you might be full of doubt
Don't try to escape cuz you don't have nowhere to go
If nothing is your fate... there's no scenario
(C'mon)
Do you call my name
Do you stain my brain
My eyes are blurry and I can't see you anymore
Do you call my name
Do you breed my pain
My heart is bloody and I can't take it anymore [2x]
- RA "Do You Call My Name?"
Wow. I never really concentrated on the lyrics to this song before...they're, like, dark and deep, like the Woods on a Winter Evening.
Okay, now how about an original word from me?
It's really dark here. It's early afternoon, and inside, it looks like the sun is setting.
Listening to: Pink - There You Go
I'm doing the pop thing at the moment. Pink ain't bad...
