Thursday
I just finished another animation for class. I have another (rather complicated) one to do, but I'm going to do that tomorrow. I have it all set up, I just need to dig in, so to speak.
Right now, I'm going to go rest for a bit. I'm really tired, probably because of the daily grind, and this afternoon while I was coming home from class, Mom got a call from one of my colleagues from the CD store. The poor guy had to go to the hospital (nothing super-serious apparently, but something that needs attention), and can't work today. He was supposed to go from 2pm to closing time, around 9pm. He managed to patchwork-together some others to help him out, me included. I'll be going around 6 until closing, so I'm going to go take a little break now, so I'm not completely out of it when I get to work.

Additional
Horray for comments, as well as parameters. My animation homework is done, now on to the essay!
Wednesday
Taking a quick breather from some more intensive animation studies. I know Mom says I have the time to do all of this, but I feel like I'm learning everything concentrated, with not enough time to really get into any of it. Still, English Comp I ends in a little less than a month, so hopefully things will calm down then.
I would just like to mention that I just spent $10 on latex applicant and a pair of red devil ears at a Halloween store because they were pointy. I might not even use them! They didn't have Goochie ears at the store and the guy didn't even know what I was talking about, though at least he was nice about it. They had LOTR costumes, even one of Legolas, but it didn't come with ears! The wig, which would have made Goldilocks scoff, was supposed to cover it. They have some really nice medieval style gowns there. Even a cloak. I might buy the cloak. It's kind of expensive, but I could wear it after Halloween, too.
I'm getting desparate in the ears department, though. I don't want to look like I stuck two frying pans on the sides of my head, I want it to be subtle.
::sigh:: I might actually just do eye makeup like what Orlando wore to Zumanity. And I could wear a cloak. :o)

I love this man...and not just mushy-gushy, I just love everything about him...I think I will follow his career for the rest of my life.

Finally! A Paris picture!
Monday
Batten down the hatches, I'm learning to drive.
My mother just took me out to the driveway to practice in the Civic. We drove up and down the driveway, that's all. My sister didn't come out with us, which was fine, because we figured that she'd be too nervous, since the Civic is the car she primarily drives. I did well, I think. Of course, it was basically just a straight line. I'm learning turning later.
Please, can someone tell me how to make Elf ears? I'm getting to dress up for Halloween this year, for the first time in a looong time (my mother made us stop trick-or-treating when we were twelve), because of my job. We get to dress up at the store on Halloween, don't you know? Anyway, I really want to be an Elf, and I want to have good-looking Elf ears. I found some instructions online for how to do it, but blimey, they look hard. There's also the little matter of risking mold gel in my ears. Yech. Besides, I have no experience with makeup. Supposedly, there are these things called Goochie ears, that you can buy at Halloween specialty stores, and since those stores are one per square inch around here, I'm going to check that out first chance I get.
There's also the matter of the clothes. I have a Medieval maid costume I put together a few years ago that may still fit me, but as I think of it, I don't think it's very Elven. The Elven ladies' dresses are more the flowy-sleeve type things which, while pretty, are a lot of work to make. Maybe I'll go as Legolas. They love him there. They think he's the man.
Why is it, when I schedule time aside to write, I can't seem to write anything good? Only when I'm supposed to be doing something else, or I have five minutes before dinner, or I really should be in bed, do I find myself writing anything pretty anymore. It's scary. I never want to be one of those writers who go through long periods when they just can't write, or when they get into a good vein can't take a break because they might not get it back, you know? I can sympathize with those people now, but I'll be darned if I go in that direction with my writing. Especially nowadays, when my free time is rationed, when I turn on my laptop, I expect to get good writing done.
I'm off to do my schoolwork.

H-O-R-S-E
Yesterday, I spent three hours trying to get a horse to gallop across the computer screen. I suceeded finally, about ten minutes after I should have started my next project. It was one of those times when "I am out of ideas--oh, wait, I have just one more. If this doesn't work, I'm calling it quits for today." It worked. I only like those times when they work. I also got a kangaroo to hop across the screen. Bah, I love computer animation. :o)
I'm starting a Tolkien/LOTR website. I'm trying to make it a place where fans of the movies can become fans of the books, and other works by Tolkien. I'm also, for fun, trying to build up a good how-to section. So far, I have permission to link to a website with how to do hair like in LOTR. I emailed a group of people really into doing LOTR costumes and asked if they'd like to share so tips/photographs. They have yet to respond. I'm also trying to secure the rights to a lembas recipe I found. I'm going to try to devise a recipe for conies, as close to the book as I can get. And I want to try to figure out a way to make realistic Elf ears fast. That's going to be hard, I think.

After numerous blogskin-swaps, I've finally settled on this one, at least for the time being. It may be a little blah, but it does the trick.
